NEET UG 2026 unlocks seats across four distinct counselling streams. Each stream has its own authority, domicile rules, and round structure.
Round 3 lock-in rule
Joining in Round 3 means no further participation in any round of counselling — including Stray Vacancy round. Per SC direction SLA(C) No. 10487/2021 and the MCC Information Bulletin.

Seats: 15% of govt medical & dental seats
Domicile: No domicile requirement — open to all India
Authority: Medical Counselling Committee (MCC)
Covers AIIMS (21 colleges, 2,196 seats) and JIPMER (200 seats) at 100%. Also covers Central Universities at 50% AIQ.
Maharashtra CET Cell — State Quota
Seats: 85% of Maharashtra govt & private seats
Domicile: Maharashtra domicile required
Authority: DMER / Maharashtra CET Cell
Covers government, private unaided, minority, and NRI seats in Maharashtra. Separate rounds from MCC.
AACCC — Central AYUSH
Seats: 52,720 AYUSH seats (BAMS / BHMS / BUMS / BSMS)
Domicile: No domicile requirement for AIQ portion
Authority: Ayush Admissions Central Counselling Committee (AACCC)
Central counselling for AYUSH UG programs. State-level counselling runs separately for state quota seats.
Maharashtra State AYUSH
Seats: State quota AYUSH seats — Maharashtra
Domicile: Maharashtra domicile required
Authority: Maharashtra AYUSH Admissions Authority
Runs after AACCC central rounds. BAMS, BHMS, BUMS seats in Maharashtra government and private colleges.
